A logistics company needed a mobile app to simplify freight job allocation and management between clients and drivers. The aim was to design a system that reduces manual work and improves transparency in shipment tracking.
Role:
UI/UX Designer
Industry:
Logistics & Transportation
Duration:
14 weeks
Challenges
Complex Workflows: Drivers had difficulty managing multiple job requests.
Data Overload: Users found shipment info hard to read on small screens.
Poor Usability: Navigation between job details, maps, and messages was inefficient.
My Approach
1. Discovery
Interviewed key users (drivers and managers) to identify workflow pain points.
Mapped out core actions: job assignment, progress tracking, and communication.
2. Design & Development
Designed a simple, card-based job listing and tracking interface.
Streamlined navigation with a bottom-tab layout for quick switching.
Created clean data presentation using hierarchy and icons for clarity.
3. Testing & Delivery
Tested prototypes with logistics staff to validate usability.
Collaborated with developers to refine real-time status updates and UI consistency.
Results
Simplified job management workflows and improved data readability. Both clients and drivers reported higher satisfaction and reduced coordination time.
Future Plans
Introduce analytics dashboards and GPS-based route optimization.
Conclusion
Delivered a high-performing, intuitive mobile app that enhanced efficiency and transparency in freight and consignment job tracking.
